Shadows of Tomorrow: David Begun Breaks Down Inspirations Behind His J VILLAIN: DOOMnuts Mash-up Mixtape (MF DOOM Tribute)

Honestly, it doesn't even feel like there's a proper way to elegize an eccentric and extremely talented artist such as MF DOOM, who meant so much to so many of us for so many years for so many different reasons as truly unique as DOOM himself. So, what better way to pay tribute to The Man, The Myth, THE MASK himself than by speaking to those closest to him? With a heavy heart, I proudly present Shadows of Tomorrow; a new recurring column in tribute to DOOM in an effort to re-tell the tall tales, strange stories, and lesser-known tidbits of The Metal Face Villain himself. R.I.P. Daniel "MF DOOM" Dumile Thompson. "I've been a fan of DOOM's music since his first release, Operation: Doomsday. Incredible beats, rhymes that had their own flow and imagination to them, and the ability to craft it all together with a theme to create a stand-alone piece of classic Hip-Hop was remarkable. He went on to do that with, basically, every project; his albums aren'

The Hard Times Writers Recruit The Lawrence Arms' Frontman Brendan Kelly As "Crustie" Kramer for Punk Rock Seinfeld (@punkrockseinfeld)

Last night while watching 90 Day Fiance with my lovely wife and surfing The Internet, I stumbled upon a post by The Lawrence Arms (@thelawrencearms) which read, "Damn you, Seinfeld, you useless pustule! "Dig this: BK is the voice of "Crustie" Kramer on the new, stop-motion animation Punk Rock Seinfeld. You can watch the first episode, The Pronoun, now on YouTube!" "BK" is, of course, The Lawrence Arms frontman Brendan Kelly, also, of Brendan Kelly & The Wandering Birds, Slapstick, The Broadways, and The Falcon fame. Kelly moonlights as both a label co-founder at Red Scare Industries and a writer for Punk/Hardcore satire news site, The Hard Times . Actually, Punk Rock Seinfeld is entirely run by The Hard Times Writers; it was created by Dan Luberto, Eric Navarro, and Kevin Tit. Luberto voices George, Tit voices Jerry, and Heather Cook voices Elaine. Here's a brief synopsis of Episode 1, The Pronoun, posted by The Hard Times on Facebook

Aaron Adkins & Joe Villella of P*ssing Match On The Ins & Outs of Crossing Streams (The Witzard Interview)

Pissing Match was formed in the fall and winter of 2013-14 by guitarist Aaron Adkins (Everything Falls Apart, Able Danger, Lewd Dewds,) who had wanted to start a Hardcore band that borrowed from his latest obsession: the short, frantic start-stop frenzy of the Swedish Hardcore duo Pusrad and wed it with the sounds of USHC alumni D.R.I. Koro, and Negative Approach with a splash of toilet humor for sh*ts and giggles. After recording all of the instruments and vocals for a 10-song demo tape clocking in at just over three minutes, Adkins enlisted vocalist Jay Galvin (Slugfest, Face The Panic, PURE HEEL,) who suggested the young pisspot Rob Ohlenschlager (PURE HEEL) on drums and veteran bassist Joe Villella (KDC, Fledging Death, Bleed for Me) to round out the yellow-eyed line-up. After the release of the aforementioned demo tape in 2014, followed by the 6-minute 16-song Break The Seal 7-inch in 2016; the gang quickly marked their territory on the US Hardcore scene. The quartet subseque
