THE RUSTY NUTZ Share "Penllergaer Sasquatch" from Upcoming Album We Tried to Make It Big But Something Somewhere Went Wrong and We Can't Work Out What That Something Is (Lavender Sweep Records)
THE RUSTY NUTZ are a five-piece Experimental Noise Pop band from Swansea, UK featuring Anthony "Ant" (Tony) Jones, Simon Jones, Craig "The Finger" Rees, Martyn Kelly, and Rich Barrow. THE NUTZ recorded and released several hundred songs on cassette between 1998 and 2002 before splitting up. Although, several rumors have stated the band never, actually, broke up and have never stopped writing. Since 2017, THE RUSTY NUTZ have released Toupèe or Not Toupèe? (2017,) "Tony Garage" (2019,) My Old Haunts Are Haunting Me, "Ten Seconds of Your Life You Will Never Get Back," Farewell My Fans (2020,) and "Why Does Christmas Only Seem to Last Ten Seconds?" (2021) on Lavender Sweep Records. Additionally, the bulk of the aforementioned releases have been issued on a variety of non-traditional formats, including cassette, 3-inch CD, CD & 'zine, 1-inch lathe-cut record, DAT/Zip 750 disk/cassette, and 1/2-inch lathe-cut record.
"Penllergaer Sasquatch" is the latest single from THE RUSTY NUTZ's long-teased album entitled We Tried to Make It Big But Something Somewhere Went Wrong and We Can't Work Out What That Something Is, which will tentatively be out by the middle of next year. The album will be released on Lavender Sweep Records and let's just say it will be on quite a few different formats, some popular, some not so popular, and some not even heard of. The single, itself, is loosely based on a story about a Bigfoot/Sasquatch sighting in Penllergaer Woods in Swansea, Wales, UK. A lot of people think these sightings are exclusive to North America, but there have been quite a number in The UK over the years, even in recent times, as well. "Penllergaer Sasquatch" can be purchased as either a digital download or as part of a limited edition video-only EP on VHS featuring the latest single, two live videos, and an interview with the band. Artwork layout subject to change. VHS EP's will be shipped from 10th December 2021. Stay tuned for additional details concerning the 2022 release of THE RUSTY NUTZ's We Tried to Make It Big But Something Somewhere Went Wrong and We Can't Work Out What That Something Is.
