Tough Love Re-release: Party Supplies - "Going Back to New York" (The Knocks Remix)

It's almost a little hard to believe that the same guys who produced Action Bronson 's hard-hitting Blue Chips 1-2 also make Electro-Dance inspired Soft Rock in their free time. But I guess you could kinda consider Party Supplies' Pop -influenced beats crafted for Bronson as that seemingly grey area-fusing vehicle; Justin Nealis & Sean Mahon somehow convinced him to ferociously rap over John Mellencamp , Phil Collins, Tracy Chapman , "Tequila," Peter Gabriel , Guns "N" Roses, and plenty more note-worthy cats. Nealis recently compiled a list of his 25 favorite aka most influential albums, which includes everyone from Paul Simon to Raekwon . While it's been rumored for quite some time now, it seems as though Fool's Gold is finally planning a proper CD/LP re-issue of Party Supplies critically-acclaimed debut full-length, Tough Love later this summer. Tough Love 2 (as we'll refer to it from here on out) will likely include rece...

Give Me One Reason: Action Bronson & Party Supplies - "Amadu Diablo" (Unplugged)

While it kinda looks like it could've been made fro about $20-30, Action Bronson & Party Supplies' new VHS-indebted "Amadu Diablo" video is really nothing more than an endearing (albeit weed-fueled) tribute to the long-forgotten glory days of MTV ; Rik Cordero self-desribed it as "found footage from the 90's now playing @ComplexMag " aka Blue Chips 2 Unplugged aka MTV Unplugged . "Amadu Diablo" starts off with producer Party Supplies (Justin Nealis) wielding an acoustic guitar seated across from Bronson himself, long skinny joint in hand. Action Bronson 1/2 sings 1/2 raps "Amadu Diablo" while Nealis haphazardly strums along: "Every day I'm walking with my head up / Don't let up cause it's a set-up / Like Albanian marriage, from Haiti to Paris / The bath was 90 degrees / Tapping Heinies with ease (shit!)" The track slowly morphs into "Give Me One Reason," the 1990's era Tracy Chapma...

The Albanian-Jewish Rick Ross: Action Bronson & Party Supplies - "Practice" (Blue Chips 2, Leak)

Editor's Note: I'm very proud to announce that I finally decided to purchase "thewitzard.com" last night. While the new site is currently under construction, thewitzard.blogspot.com and thewitzard.com are essentially one in the same. So, in a certain respect, this is my "inaugural" Action Bronson post ha... But make no mistake, Bronson is hands down one of my favourite rising emcees and Blue Chips (March 2012) is quite easily his most readily accessible project. "Practice" is the latest leak from his upcoming Blue Chips 2 mixtape with buddy Party Supplies , which is set to hit The Internet this upcoming Friday, November 1st. "I'M SUPPOSED TO BE THE FRANCHISE PLAYER, AND WE TALKIN' BOUT PRACTICE!?" beckons the voice of former Sixers all-star Allen Iverson (circa 2002) during the track's intro; and then, before you know it, "Practice" effortlessly morphs into a horn-laden Smooth Jazz in-debited BANGER! ...

YOUNG LOBSTER BIB: Action Bronson & The Alchemist - "The Symbol" (Rare Chandeliers, VICE)

It's pretty safe to assume that Action Bronson & The Alchemist first met while in the studio recording assorted parts for Domo Genesis' No Idols mixtape; Alchemist acted as reigning producer over the entire project and Bronsolini was featured on central track "Elimination Chamber" along with Earl Sweatshirt and Vince Staples . Instead of working on his 2-3rd album for new label VICE Records , Action Bronson is currently chipping away @ roughly 3-5 [FREE] mixtapes. It seems like the first one to fully materialize is gonna be Rare Chandeliers with The Alchemist , which should ultimately end up premiering online by mid-November. But I'd almost bet $100 that Bronson's been working on a batch of album-quality material for VICE the entire time now... as he's a man of vast mystery, intrigue, and surprise! Earlier today, it was reported that Action Bronson will be taking a will-deserved break - Heading out on a 14-date Fall Tour with Cypress Hill ,...

Jungle Roots: Action Bronson & Party Supplies - "Steve Wynn" (Aaron Neville Sample)

Bottom line, Blue Chips is most likely the best mixtape of the year, even though it was released as early as March 2012. That really doesn't say much for Hip-Hop or music as a whole. Anyways... Action Bronson is a "Rap Singer" from Flushing, Queens who sounds like Ghostface Killah and looks like an Albanian Rick Ross . I has a chance to do an interview with Blue Chips' sole producer, Party Supplies (Justin) , but yet again, my lack of phone interviewing skills got in the way and I kinda regret missing out on such a great opportunity. But shit, I hear that Action Bronson is currently hard @ work setting up All-Star features for "Blue Chips 2," so maybe I can initiate an interview to coincide with that one! Constructed atop an old Aaron Neville sample (1973), "Steve Wynn" is quite arguably Blue Chips' strongest piece. Now it has a bath salts-fueled, revenge-filled music video to go along with it, which was directed by Rik Cordero . T...
