Run It Back: Poison Boys "Mean Queen" B/W "Take A Chance" On Opaque Yellow 7-inch (Hobo Wolfman Records)

Poison Boys is a Chicago-based Glam Rock/Punk band, who have actively been touring, releasing music, and glamming it up since 2014. Poison Boys' current line-up includes Matt Dudzik, Steve "Stevie Poison" Elfinger, Josh Mitchell & Matt "Chainblaster" Chaney with touring/part-time members "Sleepy Doc" Julius & Nico "Bonesy" Bones. Stevie Poison & The Boys have previously released material on No Front Teeth Records, White Zoo Records, Dead Beat Records, and most recently, Hobo Wolfman Records. Following their 2019 full-length debut, Out of My Head, Poison Boys have joined forces with Hobo Wolfman to unveil their latest single, "Mean Queen" B/W "Take A Chance." We would compare Poison Boys' body of work to something along the lines of New York Dolls, Diamond Dogs-era David Bowie, The Darkness, The Struts, and one of our personal favorites, Hammered Satin. As a matter of fact, the B-side to "Mean Queen" was, actually, written by New York Dolls' original drummer, Jerry Nolan, as "Take A Chance with Me" B/W "Pretty Baby" released on Sweden's Tandan Records in 1982.

Both "Mean Queen" & "Take A Chance with Me" boast a slightly expanded line-up of Poison Boys featuring rhythm guitarist "Sleepy Doc" Julius, drummer Chainblaster, vocalist Matt Dudzik, guitarist Stevie Poison, and bassist Nico Bones. We recently recieved a copy of Poison Boys' "Mean Queen" on Opaque Yellow 7-inch vinyl from our friend, Danny Hollifield, at Hobo Wolfman Records. Said 7-inches were, actually, manufactured at Third Man Pressing in Detriot, Michigan, which is owned and operated by renown vinyl afficionado Jack White. Prior to being manufactured, "Mean Queen" & "Take A Chance with Me" were recorded and mixed at Davis M. Shubs' Cadaver Club by Davis M. Shubs in Philly between August 5-6, 2019 while on their Out of My Head East Coast/Canada Tour. "'Mean Queen" is a celebration of bada** women, queens, and sex workers everywhere. Make a donation to S.W.O.P. Chicago to support current and former sex workers, who have been hit extra-hard since the start of The COVID-19 Pandemic," Poison Boys explain on their Bandcamp page. Poison Boys' "Mean Queen" B/W "Take A Chance" single is now available to stream on most digital streaming platforms with a limited number of Opaque Yellow vinyl still available directly from Hobo Wolfman Records.

[W]reckless, Topless American Youth: Lana del Rey - "Born 2 Die" (Britney Spears Birthday 30)

Lana del Rey [Lizzy Grant] effectively became 2011's "It Girl" with the release of her phenomenal debut single, "Video Games" (Stranger) . Like many struggling singer-songwriters, Grant has been signed, dropped, and significantly changed her public image since bursting onto the scene (2009). With that said, it can be assumed that Lana del Rey has collected just as many "haters" as she has avid supporters. To be perfectly honest, the only other artist I can think of that made this much commotion... garnered so much wide-spread buzz/hate and critical acclaim -- right out of the gates -- with just one track is Britney Spears . And maybe in this post- Mike musical era, that's the true synthesis of Pop Culture: Britney Lynn Spears . After months of repeated teasing and speculation, Lana del Rey 's major label debut, Born 2 Die will [finally] be released this coming Jan. 30-31, 2012. Pitchfork reports that it will feature "Off to The Ra

Lindsay Lohan essentially embodies exactly "What NOT to Do In Hollywood :" Fame, fortune, success... sex, drugs & Rock "N" Roll . Within a fairly short period of time, Lohan somehow managed to obtain a plentiful helping of POWER @ a very young age. This gradual rise-downfall was captured on film; Between 1998-2010, she portrayed a wide array of roles across the silver screen in movies including: Mean Girls, Bobby , Herbie Fully Loaded , Georgia Rule, Machete , and Freaky Friday . Between rapid-paced film shoots, Lindsay Lohan also found time to record 2 Pop Rock albums for Casablanca , Speak (2004) and A Litter More Personal-Raw (2005). Needless to say, Lindsay Lohan has gotten roped up in a lot of troubles and woes with the law over the last 3-5 years... a vicious cycle of drugs, arrest, court, rehab, "daddy issues," jail time [Repeat]. That's the pure basics of it - But Google that shit for additional info, if necessary. Towards the end of
