CBGB's "Frankenstein" Flyer (CREDIT: David Ackerman) We’ve Got A Flyer On You will (hopefully!) be a new recurring column here at The Witzard. It’s set to feature, examine, and re-visit mixed bill/genre, once-in-a-lifetime, iconic, and otherwise noteworthy Punk/Hardcore show flyers and their corresponding line-ups. As often as possible, we plan to speak directly with the promoters, bookers, flyer artists, soundmen/women, show attendees, and, most importantly, the artists themselves. If all goes well, we’re even hoping to, eventually, cover a handful of shows we attended ourselves in years past, as well. Chris Wrenn founded Bridge Nine Records in 1995 and started sporadically releasing 7-inches up until about 2000. It was at that point, Wrenn committed full-on and Bridge Nine seemed to grow full-force and quickly became one of the leading Punk/Hardcore imprints and distributors in the land. Bridge Nine Records' roster of bands and one-time affiliates includes the likes of American Nightmare/Give Up The Ghost, Good Riddance, SLAPSHOT, TERROR, Agnostic Front, H2O, CEREMONY, New Found Glory/The International Superheroes of Hardcore, Gallows, Dave Hause, and more. Wasted Time by Beach Rats Beach Rats is a New Jersey -based Hardcore band consisting of vocalist Ari Katz , guitarist Brian Baker , guitarist Pete Steinkopf , bassist Bryan Kienlen , and drummer Daniel "Dubs" Winda s. Amongst them, Beach Rats have about 32+ collective years spent recording, touring, and melting faces within countless New Jersey & New York -based Punk/Hardcore bands. Brian Baker alone has played with Bad Religion , Dag Nasty, Dead F**king Last , Doggy Style, Government Issue , Junkyard, The Meatmen , Minor Threat, Pavement (no, not that Pavement ,) and Samhain.
