All-around Breakdown: Christian Lesperance Breaks Down Previously Released Tracks from Upcoming Jersey Interchange C1 Compilation LP (and The Witzard Track Premiere)

Team C1 who plays on the Jersey Interchange C1 vinyl LP (SOURCE: Christian Lesperance) Jersey Interchange is a musical collaboration series that re-imagines the songs of the New Jersey Punk, Hardcore, Emo, and Ska scenes of the late 1990's/early 2000's. Conceived as a simple creative outlet by NJ native Christian Lesperance (Skappository!) during the COVID-19 Quarantine, Jersey Interchange quickly blossomed into an exciting project, as over 50 different Jersey-based artists contributed and recorded tracks using home recording set-ups, each bringing a fresh take on the melodies that might have since been buried in basement storage bins, but never forgotten in the memories of fans who sang along with them over 20 years ago. The project gained significant traction and relevance thanks to the fans who tuned-in weekly and spread the word, plus, great support from outlets, like BrooklynVegan, NO ECHO, and many other music-related blogs, radio shows, and podcasts. In the fall of 20...

Art Inhuman: Dan Schenker Creates A.I.-generated Artwork Inspired By Midtown & Cobra Starship Song Titles & Lyrics Coinciding with Resurrection Tour 2022 (Plus, New Spotify Playlist)

"Become What You Hate" (ART CREDIT: Dan Schenker) Art Inhuman is a collaborative effort between Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) artist Dan Schenker and writer Matt Horowitz. Dan takes band names, lyrics, and song names and with the help of A.I., manipulates them into what he feels best represents them visually. If you have a suggestion for an upcoming addition to this series, Tweet Matt at @SharpChedder856 and/or Dan at @heydanschenker and Tag the band or artist you'd like us to feature next. This project spawned from Dan's decades-long love of music. Dan had been a fan of the band FOLLY since early high school—for the blend of Punk, Ska, and Hardcore they seamlessly wove, for the energy their music made him feel, and for the almost disproportionately poetic lyrics and topics they covered. So, when Dan thought to input some of his favorite FOLLY lyrics, song titles, and album titles into Midjourney, the results were staggering. He posted them to Facebook, which ca...

Art Inhuman: Dan Schenker's A.I.-generated Collection of Artwork Inspired By Elements from The Interrupters' New Album In The Wild (Hellcat Records)

BONUS A.I. Original: "Punk Rock Princess" (ART CREDIT: Dan Schenker) It all started back in April when renown New Jersey-bred Ska-core/Punk pioneers FOLLY (@follynj) randomly a series of eerie, yet completely striking and utterly compelling imagery to their somewhat newly-active Instagram page. FOLLY wrote, "Our talented photographer @heydanschenker entered FOLLY lyrics for A.I. to conjure generative art. We're absolutely fascinated with this artistic movement (despite its controversial nature.) What incredible visual witchcraft and digital sorcery this is!" It was accompanied by eight odd, creepy, and compelling images conjured up by fellow New Jerseyan Dan Schenker with assistance from Artificial Intelligence or A.I.—alright, all I can think of whenever I hear "A.I." is that awful Microsoft A.I. commercial featuring Common waving his hands around! So, to make a long story short, I reached out to Dan via email, told him how much I dug his FOLLY A...
