the story of the new PUNCHLINE holiday classic compilation HOLIDAY EP Re-collecting Seasonal Selections (2003-2021)

Punchline have been sporadically sharing sonic stocking stuffers since about 2003-04. It all started with one of our personal favorite holiday tunes, "Icicles," from Immortal Records beloved 2003 Christmas comp. A Santa Cause: It's A Punk Rock Christmas. Punchline's track is a hidden gem on the back half of this sprawling 21-track compilation featuring the likes of Something Corporate, blink-182, Fall Out Boy, New Found Glory, and The Mighty Mighty BossToneS. Just a few years back, Punchline told The Story of "Icicles" within an exclusive behind-the-scenes/making-of music video uploaded by bass guitarist and founding member Christopher Fafalios during the 2019 holiday season. Through the years, Punchline have released yuletide Christmas offerings roughly every two to four years. Brackish Share "For Your Own Good" & "What Makes You Say" Produced, Recorded & Mixed By Ace Enders (The Early November)

Brackish & Friends - L-R: Riley Byrne, Zach Miller, Connor Byrne, Ace Enders, Tim Fitzpatrick & Nick Rosica (CREDIT: Jared C. Wood) Brackish, as described on their own Bandcamp page, make "songs about New Jersey from Philadelphia since 2015." So, it makes perfect sense the Philly-based Punk/Post-hardcore band decided to work with one of New Jersey's finest Punks on their latest pair of tracks. Brackish's Connor Byrne, Tim Fitzpatrick, Zach Miller & Nick Rosica recruited Arthur "Ace" Enders (The Early November, I Can Make A Mess Like Nobody's Business) to help produce, record, and mix both "What Makes You Say" and "For Your Own Good." Brackish guitarist and frontman Connor Byrne tells The Witzard: "I wrote this song sometime around 2009-10 back when I was a solo acoustic artist opening shows in Philadelphia. Some friends mentioned after a show, it really stuck out to them as a favorite and so, it's been one of mi...

the story of the PUNCHLINE holiday classic "ALL HOPPED UP ON JINGLE BELLS" from Redeye 2008 Holiday Sampler (Modern Short Stories)

Last year, we spoke with Pittsburgh Pop-punk band Punchline about one of our personal favorite tracks from 2003's A Santa Cause: It's A Punk Rock Christmas, "Icicles." It's easily one of the shining moments on the back half of said CD comp. leading into Nerf Herder's special hidden track, "Santa's Got A Mullet." Lo and behold, this is just one of Punchline's lesser-known Christmas classics; actually, there seem to be four total (one, we just discovered this monring while writing this!) including "All Hopped Up On Jingle Bells" from Redeye 2008 Holiday Sampler, "I Always See You In December" from Happy Holidays, I Miss You , "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" from Punk Rock Christmas 2 , and, of course, "Icicles" from A Santa Cause. Following the widespread success of last year's the story of the PUNCHLINE holiday classic "ICICLES" from A Santa Cause: It's A Punk Rock Christmas, we ...
