3 Feet High & Rising: Members of Chotto Ghetto, Shinobu, The Lawrence Arms & Joyce Manor Form Bull Shannon & Release Chill Power!!!!! (Phat 'n' Phunky Phonics)

Chris Candy performing with Chotto Ghetto (CREDIT: Tomas Caledron) Late last night, we got a Bandcamp notification email from Phat 'n' Phunky Phonics about Chill Power!!!!! from a mysterious new band/artists called Bull Shannon. Chill Power!!!!!'s attached Bandcamp description explained, "Here's the 4-track debut for the Los Angeles trio, BULL SHANNON. Featuring Chris Candy (Chotto Ghetto) on vocals and bass, Bob Vielma (Shinobu, Fuss) also, on bass, and Neil Hennessy (The Lawrence Arms, Joyce Manor) on drums, their dual-bass style is surprisingly melodic and nimble. Recorded by [Neil] Hennessy at Asher's House in beautiful Los Angeles, California. Mastered by Hans DeKline." Bull Shannon is, of course, a reference to iconic Night Court character Aristotle Nostradamus "Bull" Shannon played by actor and voice actor Charles Richard Moll. All-around Breakdown: Elway Frontman & Guitarist Tim Browne Breaks Down Latest Album The Best of All Possible Worlds (Red Scare Industries)

Elway L-R: William Orender, Tim Browne, Joe Henderer & Brian Van Proyen (CREDIT: Tom May) Elway have stuck with Red Scare Industries for a few years and, now, we've all been rewarded with their best album yet; or, at least, that's what they're saying. Elway's Tim Browne, Joe Henderer, William Orender & Brian Van Proyen, also, tell us that the prevailing theme of this collection of songs is, "... The Candide/Quixote Dilemma. As in, are we naïve for being optimistic?" Hoo-wee, sounds like Red Scare's gonna get rich off this thing! The Indie Punk quartet recorded a buncha songs out in their home state of Colorado and, then, they painstakingly whittled it down to the best 11 tracks for The Best of All Possible Worlds. All bangers here! Even though it's been lean times for Indie Rock/Punk tours during The Pandemic, Elway has managed to play some recent shows with The Lawrence Arms, Hot Water Music, and The Menzingers and we expect the good tim...

3 Feet High & Rising: Scottish Punks Cold Years Evoke Against Me! & The Gaslight Anthem On New Single "Kicking & Screaming" (Inside Job)

Scottish Punks Cold Years (CREDIT: Pirate Photography) Aberdeen, Scotland-bred Punk trio Cold Years have released their brand new single, "Kicking & Screaming," a ragged and rousing anthem about leaving toxicity behind in one's life in the pursuit of better living. "There's so many times in my life I've been in bad situations and just couldn't see a way out," frontman Ross Gordon said. "But, now, I'm in a much more positive place. It's fight or flight—you have to take chances and do what's best for you." "Kicking & Screaming," "Headstone," and "Home" are the first new songs from the band since the release of their acclaimed debut album, Paradise , released in September of 2020. It's a sarcastic snarl aimed at the band's remote hometown that bursts from the speakers with a "clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose" spirit. Echoing the infamous, despairing "it's...
