Touché Amoré Release Cover of The Strokes' "Hard to Explain" In Honor of Is This It?'s 20th Anniversary (Bandcamp Friday Exclusive)

Touché Amoré & The Strokes (SOURCES: Epitaph Records / @thestrokes) It's the return of Bandcamp Fridays! While we really don't have the time to go through the endless amounts of emails we've received to give you some recommendations this fine day... we will say this: go and support your favorite artists, big or small. Today, Bandcamp is waiving their fees for 24 hours and providing the artists with 100% of their sales raised. We will, however, provide a recommendation released by one of our favorite bands, Touché Amoré. The Los Angeles-based Post-hardcore band led by Jeremy Bolm and featuring lead guitarist Clayton Stevens, rhythm guitarist Nick Steinhardt, bassist Tyler Kirby, and drummer Elliot Babin have shared something special in honor of today's Bandcamp Friday festivities. "To celebrate the 20 year anniversary of Is This It? by The Strokes, we did a cover of "Hard to Explain," which will be available tomorrow exclusively for Bandcamp Frid...

Two Minutes to Late Night Shares Music Videos for Every Time I Die & Cave In's Covers of Each Other's "Youth Overrided" & "Moor" (Splitsville Livestream)

Ever since this blasted COVID-19/Coronavirus-related pandemic started what feel like eons ago, Two Minutes to Late Night (2M2LN) have been assembling and recording a bunch of quarantine "bedroom" covers with a rotating cast of all-star Punk/Hardcore/Metal musicians. Creators Jordan Olds AKA Gwarsenio Hall & Drew "Hollywood" Kaufman have recorded and released something like 38 such super-covers. All of these have been made with the support of their fans, via Patreon, which helps to compensate out-of-work musicians still taking part within these fun videos through these trying times. Just this past January, 2M2LN launched a new socially distant/remotely-recorded web-series called Splitsville. Its first installment was a livestream event whenin, just as it sounds, we got a virtual split: Every Time I Die covering a Cave In song and Cave In returning the favor and covering an Every Time I Die song. Again, that all took place back on January 29, 2021 and it wa...

Two Minutes to Late Night, Marissa Nadler & Members of Cave In, High On Fire & Mutoid Man Share "Reelin' In The Years" Cover (Steely Dan)

First and foremost, Steely Dan are great, but I can assure you, you've never heard them like this before! Here, we have a remotely-recorded Heavy Metal-tinged cover of Steely Dan 's infectious 1973 single, "Reelin' In The Years" from their debut album, Can't Buy A Thrill (1972.) It was all orchestrated from self-quarantine by Two Minutes to Late Night 's own Jordan Olds AKA Gwarsenio Hall/Doctor Mayor and Drew "Hollywood" Kaufman AKA Diet Hellboy . Two Minutes to Late Night 's Facebook page describes the how as "a Heavy Metal-themed talk show featuring a corpse-painted host and the world's best House Band, Mutoid Man !" According to Stereogum Senior Editor Tom Breihan , Mutoid Man 's Stephen Brodsky , also, leads Cave In and drummer Ben Koller plays with Converge & All Pigs Must Die . Last month, when these self-quarantine recommendations first started happening, Two Minutes to Late Night (2M2LN) and some mus...
