Hot Mulligan Return with "Pop Shuvit (Hall of Meat, Duh)" from Forthcoming EP I Won't Reach Out to You (Wax Bodega Records)

"Like many bands last year, Lansing, Michigan's Hot Mulligan—the "#1 Hot New Band" per their Facebook page—put out an LP in 2020 that they didn't get to tour. This year, they'll release I Won't Reach Out to You (IWROTY,) a six-track EP that operates as a quasi-response to their 2020 full-length you'll be fine. The EP is bookended on the first and last tracks by a resounding glance-back at a world that, simply, doesn't exist anymore: "Stay home, stay home / You said it wouldn't make a difference whether we could be together or not,'" explains Wax Bodega. Hot Mullian's current line-up includes frontman Nathan "Tades" Sanville, rhythm guitarist Chris Freeman, lead guitarist Ryan "Spicy" Malicsi, and drummer Brandon Blakeley and may or may not include bassist Garrett "Sniff" Willig. Hot Mulligan's aforementioned full-length album, you'll be fine, was released last year on California-based independent label No Sleep Records. It appears as though Hot Mulligan have now signed to Philly-based label Wax Bodega Records.

They're planning to press the IWROTY EP on a bunch of different colors, variants, and limited edition versions of vinyl: 250 Yellow with White Splatter as a Banquet Records Exclusive, 300 Half Blue/Half White for Newbury Comics, 300 Half Blue/Half White, again, for Newbury Comics, 300 Blue, 400 White with Blue, Pink & Yellow Splatter, and 600 Galaxy Blue. It will include tarck titles nearly as great as those of From Under The Cork Tree-era Fall Out Boy, such as "One for The Boy," "Featuring Mark Hoppus," "Losing Days," "Pop Shuvit (Hall of Meat, Duh,)" and "Please, Don't Cry, You Have Swag." We're assuming "Featuring Mark Hoppus" does not, in fact, Feat. Mark Hoppus from blink-182, but who knows, and in our mind, "Pop Shuvit (Hall of Meat, Duh)" is a refernce to the in-game move on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. "Pop Shuvit (Hall of Meat, Duh)" is a fun-loving Pop-punk track with some breakdowns, build-ups, catchy lyrics, electronic bleeps and blips, and, of course, punchy guitar solos. Hot Mulligan's I Won't Reach Out to You is out 5/28 on Wax Bodega Records.

[W]reckless, Topless American Youth: Lana del Rey - "Born 2 Die" (Britney Spears Birthday 30)

Lana del Rey [Lizzy Grant] effectively became 2011's "It Girl" with the release of her phenomenal debut single, "Video Games" (Stranger) . Like many struggling singer-songwriters, Grant has been signed, dropped, and significantly changed her public image since bursting onto the scene (2009). With that said, it can be assumed that Lana del Rey has collected just as many "haters" as she has avid supporters. To be perfectly honest, the only other artist I can think of that made this much commotion... garnered so much wide-spread buzz/hate and critical acclaim -- right out of the gates -- with just one track is Britney Spears . And maybe in this post- Mike musical era, that's the true synthesis of Pop Culture: Britney Lynn Spears . After months of repeated teasing and speculation, Lana del Rey 's major label debut, Born 2 Die will [finally] be released this coming Jan. 30-31, 2012. Pitchfork reports that it will feature "Off to The Ra

Lindsay Lohan essentially embodies exactly "What NOT to Do In Hollywood :" Fame, fortune, success... sex, drugs & Rock "N" Roll . Within a fairly short period of time, Lohan somehow managed to obtain a plentiful helping of POWER @ a very young age. This gradual rise-downfall was captured on film; Between 1998-2010, she portrayed a wide array of roles across the silver screen in movies including: Mean Girls, Bobby , Herbie Fully Loaded , Georgia Rule, Machete , and Freaky Friday . Between rapid-paced film shoots, Lindsay Lohan also found time to record 2 Pop Rock albums for Casablanca , Speak (2004) and A Litter More Personal-Raw (2005). Needless to say, Lindsay Lohan has gotten roped up in a lot of troubles and woes with the law over the last 3-5 years... a vicious cycle of drugs, arrest, court, rehab, "daddy issues," jail time [Repeat]. That's the pure basics of it - But Google that shit for additional info, if necessary. Towards the end of
