Honestly, it doesn't even feel like there's a proper way to elegize an eccentric and extremely talented artist such as MF DOOM, who meant so much to so many of us for so many years for so many different reasons as truly unique as DOOM himself. So, what better way to pay tribute to The Man, The Myth, THE MASK himself than by speaking to those closest to him? With a heavy heart, I proudly present Shadows of Tomorrow; a new recurring column in tribute to DOOM in an effort to re-tell the tall tales, strange stories, and lesser-known tidbits of The Metal Face Villain himself. R.I.P. Daniel "MF DOOM" Dumile Thompson.

"In April 2019, the last minutes at the Riot Studio in Lahore were filled with the sound of "Figaro" from the classic MADVILLAIN duo's album. After the recording of Jaubi's upcoming album, Nafs At Peace, the musicians gathered in the studio and played this song spontaneously in the form of entertainment, which only proves that MADVILLAIN were a huge inspiration for many artists from across the world. Only one take was recorded in the studio. It would, probably, have been hidden in the Astigmatic Records archives to this day, if it wasn't for the sudden death of one of the best emcees in Hip-Hop history. A few days after this sad information, Latarnik (EABS) locked himself in his S151 Studio, working on the tracks recorded in Lahore. "Figaro" in this form is a tribute to the late MF DOOM."

"MF DOOM is most likely my favourite emcee ever. In 2019, I asked Jaubi, Latarnik from EABS & Tenderlonious from 22a Music if they would record interpretation of "Figaro" from MADVILLAINY after recording Jaubi's upcoming album, Nafs At Peace. We did only one take and we didn't plan to release it in any form... after news about DOOM's death, Marek [Pędziwiatr] AKA Latarnik reminded me this take and togheter with Sebastian Jóźwiak & Marcin Piechowiak, [we] decided to refresh it, add some post-production, and Marek "Latarnik" Pędziwiatr DID IT AGAIN! This is Astigmatic's tribute to one of the greatest! RIP DOOM."

Lindsay Lohan essentially embodies exactly "What NOT to Do In Hollywood :" Fame, fortune, success... sex, drugs & Rock "N" Roll . Within a fairly short period of time, Lohan somehow managed to obtain a plentiful helping of POWER @ a very young age. This gradual rise-downfall was captured on film; Between 1998-2010, she portrayed a wide array of roles across the silver screen in movies including: Mean Girls, Bobby , Herbie Fully Loaded , Georgia Rule, Machete , and Freaky Friday . Between rapid-paced film shoots, Lindsay Lohan also found time to record 2 Pop Rock albums for Casablanca , Speak (2004) and A Litter More Personal-Raw (2005). Needless to say, Lindsay Lohan has gotten roped up in a lot of troubles and woes with the law over the last 3-5 years... a vicious cycle of drugs, arrest, court, rehab, "daddy issues," jail time [Repeat]. I think it's pretty safe to say that The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) comfortably teeters the fine line between glitched-out smooth New Age R&B and hard-hitting Hip-Hop ; while the same could arguably be said for 16-year-old New Zealand new-comer, Lorde . Her break-out single "Royals" 1/2 jokingly shouts out semi-common bravado-worthy shit like: diamonds, "gold teeth, Grey Goose ... Cadillacs, Cristal, Maybach ... jet planes, islands, [and] tigers on a gold leash." But now, the Lorde/Weeknd connection has been further solidified, as Tesfaye recently managed to conjure up and release his own "Royals" remix. Pop Artist & Surfer Chronicle Intriguing Ex-Pornstar In "SASHA GREY."

Seemingly made to co-exist as thought-provoking companion pieces... "LINDSAY LOHAN" directors Richard Phillips & Taylor Steele are back with their most recent Art Presentation, "SASHA GREY." The 90-second short film was shot in early May @ John Lautner Chemosphere House in Los Angeles, CA. Both striking flicks will be shown on a giant floating video screen [ "Commercial Break" ] @ Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in Venice, Italy (June 1-5). "Adult acting chops" aside, Sasha (23) seems very intelligent, captivating, free-spirited, business savvy, well-mannered, charming... and dare I say, "average."
