The HIRS Collective Off-shoot Band Jenna & The Pups Share Bandcamp-only HAPPY BIRTHDAY EP for Jenna Pup's Birthday (self-released)

Jenna Pup is the frontperson and found of The HIRS Collective (somtimes, known simply as HIRS or +HIRS+) who describe themselves on Facebook as "a collective of freaks, faggots, friends, lovers, and favorites that will never stop existing. [infinite]." HIRS' Discogs page further ellaborates, "The HIRS Collective exist to fight for, defend, and celebrate the survival of trans, queer, P.O.C., black, women, and any and all other folks who have to constantly face violence, marginalization, and oppression. We are a collective of freaks, faggots, friends, lovers, and favorites that will never stop existing. infinite and never ending. No one is going to kill us; we are going to live forever." HIRS' last proper album, Friends. Lovers. Favorites, was released on Get Better Records in 2018 and featured guest appearances from the likes of Shirley Manson (Garbage,) Laura Jane Grace (Against Me!, Laura Jane Grace & The Devouring Mothers,) Martin Crudo (Limp Wrist, Canal Irreal, NRRRV,) Moor Mother, and more.

Although, they've stayed far from inactive over the course of the last four years, sharing numerous EP's, splits, singles, singles, and three collections of 100 songs each. Jenna Pup, also, seemingly fronts a number of side-projects including Jenna & The Pups, Pup (no, not that PUP,) and solo as Jenna Pup. Yesterday, in honor of her birthday, Jenna Pup surprise released a new album, befitting called HAPPY BIRTHDAY, with Jenna & The Pups. It's 10 songs in 12 minutes or less, but it's definitely a strong slice of highly enjoyable Philly Punk. Aside from or in addition to Jenna & The Pups, HAPPY BIRTHDAY showcases contributions from Jim Shomo (DARK THOUGHTS,) who co-wrote "waywayd for wayward" with Jenna Pup, and Steve Roche (Armalite, Body Spray, SAETIA,) who mixed and mastered everything at Permanent Hearing Damage.

Jenna Pup told us, via email, that "[HAPPY BIRTHDAY] as written the same time as the OUT OF DEBT release. Recorded by [Jenna & The Pups] in August '22. Mixed and mastered August 31, 2021 by Steve Roche at Permanent Hearing Damage. Could've waited to release it, but wanted to do something fun for my birthday." Regarding working with Jim Shomo, she added, "we were originally collaborating [on] some songs and the original version I wrote of "wayward for wayward" was way shorter. He came up with the idea of adding another chorus and adding the backing vocals and I wanted to make sure I gave [him] the proper cred." So, as a Happy Belated Birthday present to Jenna Pup, go pick up a copy of Jenna & The Pups' Bandcamp exclusive EP, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, this Bandcamp Friday.

"Let Me Shine for You:" Lindsay Lohan for Playboy (Winter 2011-12 Leak)

Lindsay Lohan essentially embodies exactly "What NOT to Do In Hollywood :" Fame, fortune, success... sex, drugs & Rock "N" Roll . Within a fairly short period of time, Lohan somehow managed to obtain a plentiful helping of POWER @ a very young age. This gradual rise-downfall was captured on film; Between 1998-2010, she portrayed a wide array of roles across the silver screen in movies including: Mean Girls, Bobby , Herbie Fully Loaded , Georgia Rule, Machete , and Freaky Friday . Between rapid-paced film shoots, Lindsay Lohan also found time to record 2 Pop Rock albums for Casablanca , Speak (2004) and A Litter More Personal-Raw (2005). Needless to say, Lindsay Lohan has gotten roped up in a lot of troubles and woes with the law over the last 3-5 years... a vicious cycle of drugs, arrest, court, rehab, "daddy issues," jail time [Repeat]. That's the pure basics of it - But Google that shit for additional info, if necessary. Towards the end of...

Jet Planes, Islands, Tigers On a Gold Leash: Lorde - "Royals" (The Weeknd Remixo)

I think it's pretty safe to say that The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) comfortably teeters the fine line between glitched-out smooth New Age R&B and hard-hitting Hip-Hop ; while the same could arguably be said for 16-year-old New Zealand new-comer, Lorde . Her break-out single "Royals" 1/2 jokingly shouts out semi-common bravado-worthy shit like: diamonds, "gold teeth, Grey Goose ... Cadillacs, Cristal, Maybach ... jet planes, islands, [and] tigers on a gold leash." But now, the Lorde/Weeknd connection has been further solidified, as Tesfaye recently managed to conjure up and release his own "Royals" remix. My beautiful girlfriend said earlier, and I paraphrase, that it "makes her wanna dance lol and she could [likely] hear this remix in a future movie!" Following the wide-spread release of her first 2 EP's (Love Club & Tennis Court) , Universal Republic plans to unleash Lorde 's proper debut album, Pure Heroine between ...

Pop Artist & Surfer Chronicle Intriguing Ex-Pornstar In "SASHA GREY."

Seemingly made to co-exist as thought-provoking companion pieces... "LINDSAY LOHAN" directors Richard Phillips & Taylor Steele are back with their most recent Art Presentation, "SASHA GREY." The 90-second short film was shot in early May @ John Lautner Chemosphere House in Los Angeles, CA. Both striking flicks will be shown on a giant floating video screen [ "Commercial Break" ] @ Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in Venice, Italy (June 1-5). "Adult acting chops" aside, Sasha (23) seems very intelligent, captivating, free-spirited, business savvy, well-mannered, charming... and dare I say, "average." And I really think that's exactly what Phillips/Steele were trying to convey throughout the course of the piece; Grey's beauty, public draw, sheer likeability, and honesty will surely take her very far in future endeavors... Solidifying her [updated] image as a true "Pop Culture Figure." * Featured soundtra...
