Lou Barlow & John Davis Reunite to Share First Recordings Together As The Folk Implosion In 22 Years Feel It If You Feel It EP (Inundation Records)

The Folk Implosion originally existed from 1993-2004 and primarily featured Lou Barlow (Dinosaur, Jr., Sebadoh) & John Davis, as well as players Russ Pollard & Imaad Wasif. Folk Implosion were on an indefinite hiatus between 2004-20 and at different stages thoughout their career, were also known as Deluxx Folk Implosion/D.F.I. with memebr sof Boston's Deluxx, Ljudska, and The New Folk Implosion/N.F.I. Davis left the band around 1999-2000 and Barlow recruited Pollard & Wasif to help record The New Folk Implosion (2003.) "After 22 years, Folk Implosion have, today, self-released a new single: Feel It If You Feel It (two songs, two remixes) available on Bandcamp (it'll be on [your] Apple Music, Spotify etc. on April 29th.)"

"We got three physical formats to choose from: CD, cassette (get 'em now!) and 12-inch vinyl (pre-order, get it in November.) These songs will *not* be on the LP we are working on. It's just a little thing, a taste, to get things rolling and it's definitely rolling..." Lou Barlow (@loubarlow) shared earlier today on Instagram. Today, we recieved just that, a new EP from The Folk Implosion entitled Feel It If You Feel It (or Feel It If You Feel It By The Folk Implosion.) It conists of two original tracks, "Don't Give It Away" & "Had Enough," and two remixes by producer Scott Solter, "Give It Away" (Bollywood Rapids Mix) & "Had Enough (Hitchhiker's Dub to The Galaxy Mix.)

It's truly great to hear Lou Barlow & John Davis back together again on record again as The Folk Implosion since 1999's One Part Lullaby. "The Folk Implosion reunion was a bright spot in the otherwise dark days of the early Pandemic, Summer 2020. Residing in different states, Massachusetts & North Carolina, they began a remote collaboration, which mirrored the beginnings of their friendship as penpals in the very early 1990's. Drum parts, basslines, and guitar riffs were ping-ponged across The Internet," The Folk Implosion shared on their Bandcamp page. "Approximately a year later, fully vaxxed and ready to roll, John & Lou worked in-person in Scott Solter's studio in Durham, North Carolina, to bring these songs to completion."

"The finish line was reached when Scott remixed the tunes in January 2022. This single, self-released through John's Inundation Records, makes a silver-and-black visual nod to their first LP from 1993. It cements and celebrates the band's return to active status. The duo will spend the rest of 2022 working on a full length LP," Barlow & Davis continued. The Folk Implosion's Feel It If You Feel It is now available exclusively on Bandcamp. It's available for pre-order on CD, cassette tape, and vinyl record throigh John Davis' own Inundation Records in partnership with Joyful Noise Recordings, as well, if you're interested in purchasing a physical copy. Feel It If You Feel It will become available on additional streaming services Friday, Apiril 29, 2022. The Folk Implosion are promising the release of their fifth as-yet-untitled full-length in spring of 2023.

"Let Me Shine for You:" Lindsay Lohan for Playboy (Winter 2011-12 Leak)

Lindsay Lohan essentially embodies exactly "What NOT to Do In Hollywood :" Fame, fortune, success... sex, drugs & Rock "N" Roll . Within a fairly short period of time, Lohan somehow managed to obtain a plentiful helping of POWER @ a very young age. This gradual rise-downfall was captured on film; Between 1998-2010, she portrayed a wide array of roles across the silver screen in movies including: Mean Girls, Bobby , Herbie Fully Loaded , Georgia Rule, Machete , and Freaky Friday . Between rapid-paced film shoots, Lindsay Lohan also found time to record 2 Pop Rock albums for Casablanca , Speak (2004) and A Litter More Personal-Raw (2005). Needless to say, Lindsay Lohan has gotten roped up in a lot of troubles and woes with the law over the last 3-5 years... a vicious cycle of drugs, arrest, court, rehab, "daddy issues," jail time [Repeat]. That's the pure basics of it - But Google that shit for additional info, if necessary. Towards the end of

[W]reckless, Topless American Youth: Lana del Rey - "Born 2 Die" (Britney Spears Birthday 30)

Lana del Rey [Lizzy Grant] effectively became 2011's "It Girl" with the release of her phenomenal debut single, "Video Games" (Stranger) . Like many struggling singer-songwriters, Grant has been signed, dropped, and significantly changed her public image since bursting onto the scene (2009). With that said, it can be assumed that Lana del Rey has collected just as many "haters" as she has avid supporters. To be perfectly honest, the only other artist I can think of that made this much commotion... garnered so much wide-spread buzz/hate and critical acclaim -- right out of the gates -- with just one track is Britney Spears . And maybe in this post- Mike musical era, that's the true synthesis of Pop Culture: Britney Lynn Spears . After months of repeated teasing and speculation, Lana del Rey 's major label debut, Born 2 Die will [finally] be released this coming Jan. 30-31, 2012. Pitchfork reports that it will feature "Off to The Ra

Liberty Bell Cracked In 1/2: Ween - "Freedom of '76" (Gene Ween's Final Send-Off)

Chocolate & Cheese (1994) was one of the first albums I bought with my own money. I was in some sort of BMG Music Club , where you'd buy 5 CD's and then get 10 for "FREE." It was all sent through mail order and you picked the titles from some special booklet. I'm almost positive that Chocolate & Cheese's side boob-baring album cover was what initially drew me in... mind you, I was 12-15 and the zany Ween logo/middle finger CD graphic really didn't hurt either. Honestly, I forget how I really felt about it @ the time, but a few years later, my older cousin Josh told me that Ween were this BIG college "jam band." CKY did some sort pf 93.3 radio takeover to promote their new album and played "Freedom of '76" late that night on air. Needless to say, I re-visited Chocolate & Cheese @ about 20-something this go 'round and I fucking loved it! Ween were really weird, yet talented... almost too talented. I can vaguel
