"What's The Time? It's Time to Get ILL:" ILL COMMUNICATION Share Rhythms & Rhymes for The End Times EP (Safe Inside Records)

ILL COMMUNICATION (CREDIT: Matt Welch)

ILL COMMUNICATION started as a few friends from the Oxnard & Tehachapi Hardcore scenes who had talked about making music together for over 15 years. After playing and touring across North America & Europe in bands such as THE WARRIORS, Diehard Youth, NO MOTIV, Retaliate, and Gravemaker, they named the band (after the Beastie Boys,) wrote some music, and started playing out. Soon after, they recorded two EP's that where released online, as well as a one-sided 12-inch on Another City Records. All their releases have been and will be written, recorded, and engineered by a core group of friends. Musically pulling from classic Hardcore bands such as Beyond, Turning Point, and Inside Out, as well as well as mix of other musical styles.

Lyrically addressing a variety of topics from the state of the world to chillin' out with friends; ILL COMMUNICATION has been known to give a shout-out to the old Hip-Hop & Punk groups that helped shape the members of the band. With the aim to give back to a scene that has given them so much, ILL COMMUNICATION joined the Safe Inside Records family to start spreading their ILL vibes world-wide. Rhythms & Rhymes for The End Times is the first collaborative Safe Inside Records x ILL COMMUNICATION release. It consists of two extremely ILL new tracks. Both "Father, Son & The Illest Ghost" & "A Lecture In Survivability" stem from the sessions for ILL COMMUNICATION's forthcoming debut full-length.

These tracks are meant to serve as the transition from their last EP, Def Threats In The Hieroglyphics, to the full-length, which will be released by the rad humans at Safe Inside Records. Rhythms & Rhymes for The End Times features lyrics, music, and backing vocals by The ILL-CULT. Both songs were engineered by Chad Walker, produced by Vinnie Caruana (The Movielife, I Am The Avalanche, Peace'd Out) and Donny Phillips, mixed by Roger Camero, mastered by Erol Ulug, and artwork designed by Don Phüry. Much like their namesake, ILL COMMUNICATION is simply about getting a little "wild" once in a while, but still staying progressive, and paying respect to those who paved the way, but doing their part in the current movement, all while representing Tehachapi & Oxnard Hardcore. ILL COMMUNICATION is Joe Martin, Matt Battiglia, Chris Cribbs, Andy Franchere, and Roger Camero. ILL COMMUNICATION's Rhythms & Rhymes for The End Times EP is now available on Safe Inside Records.

[W]reckless, Topless American Youth: Lana del Rey - "Born 2 Die" (Britney Spears Birthday 30)

Lana del Rey [Lizzy Grant] effectively became 2011's "It Girl" with the release of her phenomenal debut single, "Video Games" (Stranger) . Like many struggling singer-songwriters, Grant has been signed, dropped, and significantly changed her public image since bursting onto the scene (2009). With that said, it can be assumed that Lana del Rey has collected just as many "haters" as she has avid supporters. To be perfectly honest, the only other artist I can think of that made this much commotion... garnered so much wide-spread buzz/hate and critical acclaim -- right out of the gates -- with just one track is Britney Spears . And maybe in this post- Mike musical era, that's the true synthesis of Pop Culture: Britney Lynn Spears . After months of repeated teasing and speculation, Lana del Rey 's major label debut, Born 2 Die will [finally] be released this coming Jan. 30-31, 2012. Pitchfork reports that it will feature "Off to The Ra

Lindsay Lohan essentially embodies exactly "What NOT to Do In Hollywood :" Fame, fortune, success... sex, drugs & Rock "N" Roll . Within a fairly short period of time, Lohan somehow managed to obtain a plentiful helping of POWER @ a very young age. This gradual rise-downfall was captured on film; Between 1998-2010, she portrayed a wide array of roles across the silver screen in movies including: Mean Girls, Bobby , Herbie Fully Loaded , Georgia Rule, Machete , and Freaky Friday . Between rapid-paced film shoots, Lindsay Lohan also found time to record 2 Pop Rock albums for Casablanca , Speak (2004) and A Litter More Personal-Raw (2005). Needless to say, Lindsay Lohan has gotten roped up in a lot of troubles and woes with the law over the last 3-5 years... a vicious cycle of drugs, arrest, court, rehab, "daddy issues," jail time [Repeat]. That's the pure basics of it - But Google that shit for additional info, if necessary. Towards the end of
