Here, we have the visual accompaniment to Lil' Wayne's "6' 7"." The track also features Young Money's newest member Cory Gunz, while the video was directed by Hype Williams.
Crafting the concept along with Wayne himself, Williams included nods to Christopher Nolan's Inception and scenes that literally "act out" the best bars included within "6' 7"." The track's "hook" ["6 foot, 7 foot, 8 foot..."] is sampled from Harry Belafonte's 1956 Calypso single, "Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)." Said track was famously featured in a Beetlejuice scene (Tim Burton/Johnny Depp, 1988). - And that scene is [cleverly] showcased below.
Hype Williams has previously filmed classic music videos for artists like Jay-Z, Missy Elliott, Nas, Busta, Christina Aguilera, Kanye, Coldplay, and Craig Mac. Lil' Wayne's [oft-delayed] "Tha Carter IV" will reportedly see a release sometime before 2011's end.
